Anastasia Klimchynskaya

Anastasia Klimchynskaya is a doctoral candidate in Comparative Literature. Her primary interest is in the intersection of science and literature in the 19th century and the consequent emergence of genres such as science fiction and detective fiction. Her dissertation combines literary theory, media studies, and the history of science to explore how scientific advancements, technological discoveries, and media intertwine with fiction to create new narrative possibilities and new genres. Her other interests include post-structuralism, semiotics, adaptation and intertextuality, genre studies, and popular fiction.
