Julia Kolchinsky Dasbach is a PhD candidate in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory. Her dissertation focuses on the lyric rendering of trauma in contemporary American poetry about the Holocaust. She is particularly interested in Soviet emigre poets writing in English about the Holocaust in the East and their writing's relationship to 20th century poets of witness like Akhmatova and Mandelstam. Julia is also a practicing poet herself and the author of The Bear Who Ate the Stars
