Lucas de Lima's dissertation explores the intersection of spiritual and racial formation in twentieth-century literary and cultural production from Brazil, Cuba, and the U.S.  His interests include anthropology, geography, religious studies, gender and sexuality, hemispheric studies, and Latin studies.
