Interests:
I work on 18th-century literature and print culture, primarily in Britain and its colonies, but also in Germany and France. I also work on queer theory and historiography, postcolonial theory, transnational feminism, and book history. Current research interests include slavery and abolition, political pamphlets, discourses of criminal justice, Gothic horror, "Enlightenment" and its afterlives, literary antiquarianism, literature and nationalism, affect studies, and 20th-century histories and theories of sexuality.
