James Ker is Assistant Professor of Classical Studies. He holds a B.A. in Classics from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. His research and teaching are primarily in imperial Latin literature, ancient rhetoric and philosophy, and Greco-Roman cultural history. My work is mainly in the area of Latin Literature and Roman culture, with a focus on prose writing in the first century CE. My recent publications have dealt with Seneca and with Roman conceptions of time.
