Edward Peters is the Henry Charles
Lea Professor of History,
he specializes in the early history of Europe, from the
second to the seventeenth centuries. His chief interests
are political and constitutional history, including church
history, intellectual and legal history, and historiography.
His current research deals with various aspects of crime
and punishment, on the one hand, and with the idea of curiosity
and the limits of intellectual inquiry, on the other. And
a great deal else in between.
