Seth Bernard

e-mail: Seth's e-mail

This is a picture of Seth speaking above the battle field at ancient Philippi. In the distance to the right is the low hill of Cassius' camp. Now in his fifth year, Seth previously received his B.A. in Classics at Amherst College (2003). Prior to joining the program he worked with the Greek and Roman collection at the Metropolitan Museum and spent a year studying as a Fulbright Fellow at the American School at Athens. He has excavated at Ancient Corinth and is currently working with the excavation of an imperial villa at Agnani in Italy. He is also working for the Mapping Augustan Alexandria Project with Professor Haselberger. His main interests lie in ancient urbanism and the Roman economy. His dissertation topic is a socioeconomic study of Roman public construction during the mid-Republic.
