This is a picture of Kelcy Sagstetter being mobbed at the cat sanctuary near Limassol in Cyprus. She finished her BA at the University of Texas at Austin, with majors in Plan II, ancient history and classical civilization, and Classics. After teaching Latin for a year in Houston, she received her MA in Latin Literature at Boston University. Her main interests are trade relations between the Black Sea and mainland Greece in the archaic period, and political continuities between Athens under the tyrants and the developed democracy. Additionally, she has studied Latin in Rome with Reginald Foster for two summers, excavated at Villa Magna, and spent three summers working on Cyprus for an underwater survey project.
