Tina Lu

Assistant Professor of Chinese Literature

Tina Lu has been an Assistant Professor of Chinese Literature at Penn since 1998. She graduated with an A.B. in East Asian Languages and Civilizations and a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Harvard University. She received a Fulbright Fellowship to study in Taiwan.

Professor Lu's research focuses on the fiction and drama of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Her book Persons, Roles, and Minds: Identity in Peony Pavilion and Peach Blossom Fan was published through Stanford University Press last year. She is currently at work on a book on the idea of the empire in late imperial Chinese literature.
