As of September
1, 2003 the new Max Kade Center is now located at 3401 Walnut Street, Room
329-A. The Max Kade Center at the University of Pennsylvania was
established in 1963 and is the venue for guest lectures, receptions and
parties, one-on-one tutoring by our three Max Kade Fellows, mini-immersion
programs, Kaffeestunde and much more. It also houses an extensive
library of German-language books.
The New York-based Max Kade
Foundation was established in 1947 by Dr. Max Kade, a prominent German-American
businessman in the pharmaceutical industry and the developer of Pertussin.
Through its charitable funding the foundation promotes scientific and
technical progress, furthers the peaceful coexistence of nations, and
advances German-American relations. Max Kade died July 15, 1967.
