DIRECTIONS AND
INFORMATION ABOUT TRAVELING TO PHILADELPHIA
The conference will be held on campus at the University of Pennsylvania. All panels will take
place in the Max
Kade Center,
which is located at 3401 Walnut
Street, Room 329A. The Max Kade Center is in the building which is
immediately to the left of Starbucks at the corner of 34th Street and Walnut Street. Take the elevator to the
third floor, and then walk all the way to the end of the hallway and make a
left to find Room 329A.
Directions from 30th
Street Station to the Max Kade Center
30th
Street Station
is located just west of the Schuylkill
River. When you exit
the train station, go west (away from the river and the Walnut Street
Bridge; you will
probably make a right) up Market
Street to 34th Street. Make a left, and take 34th Street to Walnut Street
(passing Chestnut Street,
which is between Market and Walnut). The Max Kade Center is on the northwest corner of
34th and Walnut, right next to Starbucks.
Traveling to Philadelphia by Plane
If you will be traveling to the conference by
plane, you could fly into either the Philadelphia
International Airport
or into one of the New York
airports. From the Philadelphia
airport, you could take a taxi to the area where the campus is located for
approximately $25. Both Amtrak and New Jersey Transit (in conjunction with
the SEPTA Regional R7 line) run trains directly from Newark
Airport in Newark,
NJ (just outside New
York City) to 30th
Street Station in Philadelphia. (Transportation from either
JFK or LaGuardia Airport would require traveling from those airports
to Penn Station in New York City, and then
taking a train from Penn Station New York to
30th Street
Station in Philadelphia.)
Traveling to Philadelphia by Train
Philadelphia is located approximately 1-2 hours south of New York City by train.
If you plan on arriving by train, 30th
Street Station is the central train station in Philadelphia and is
only a 10-15 minute walk from campus (or a $5 taxi ride).
