SUSANNE SHIELDS teaches German language and culture courses at the Lauder Institute where she specializes in Advanced Language teaching and Business German for professional purposes.

In addition to her Lauder Institute teaching, every year Shields teaches an advanced undergraduate course on some aspect of German business. In the Fall of 2008, she teaches GRMN 377 "Germany and the European Union."

She holds a Staatsexamen in Education from the Johann Wolfgang Goethe Universität in Frankfurt am Main, Germany (1977), a Master`s degree in German Literature from Pennsylvania State University (1986) and a Ph.D. degree in German Literature from Penn (1996).
