passed through a preliminary editing, but is not yet error free.  The
authentic version of this translation remains the hardcopy offered by
the aforementioned publishers, and can be purchased in many
bookstores.

The Shakir translation is to a great extent a verbatim reproduction of
Maulana Muhammad Ali's 1917 edition of the English translation of the
Quran. In a few places some verbal changes have been made to express the
more traditional interpretations.
