If you wish to unsubscribe from a list on ccat.sas.upenn.edu, follow the instructions below. Some lists also have other means of letting you unsubscribe, but the following instructions will work for all of our lists.
For most people, the easiest way to unsubscribe from a listproc list on ccat.sas.upenn.edu is to use our online form.
Send mail to our list software from your e-mail account where you are subscribed.
Address the e-mail to:
You're communicating with software, not a human being. So be exact. Spell "unsubscribe" exactly.
It's best to leave the subject line blank or to put only a space in it. (Words in the subject line can cause ListProc to reject a message!)
In the message area of your e-mail, put only the following line:
unsubscribe xxxx
but replace xxxx
with the name of the list from which you wish to be unsubscribed.
For example, let's suppose that you are on the newjour@ccat.sas.upenn.edu list
and you wish to leave.
In the message area of your e-mail,
put only the following line:
unsubscribe newjour
Make sure you don't have anything else in the e-mail:
It should contain only two words: unsubscribe and the name of the list.
If listproc unsubscribes you, it will send you confirmation within a minute or two.
If your attempts to unsubscribe fail, contact and tell us which list you wish to leave. Let us know if you might be subscribed under some other address.
CCAT uses ListProc software to handle listserv mailing and discussion lists. Full manuals for users and list owners are available at: http://www.cren.net/listproc/docs/
