Charles Gangemi did his undergraduate and graduate studies at University of Pennsylvania in music, studying composition with George Rochberg. His private piano studies were with Juilliard School professors, Eduard Steuermann, Adele Marcus and William Masselos. Professor Domenico Vittorini was his beloved mentor at Penn and he was President of the Circolo Italiano during his senior undergraduate year. He later taught at the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music before teaching at West Chester University for 30 years, retiring as Professor Emeritus. He is active as a pianist/ lecturer and enjoys traveling, spending summers in Italy.
