Careful textual study of a book of the Hebrew Bible ("Old Testament") as a literary and religious work in the light of modern scholarship, ancient Near Eastern documents, and comparative literature and religion. The book varies from year to year. Fall 2016: Who is responsible for the recording of biblical battles and conquests? Can we confirm historical events depicted in the Hebrew Bible through archaeology or other sources?
