HOST INSTITUTION of THE CONSORTIUM


  1. The HOST INSTITUTION of the Consortium for Language Policy and Planning is The University of Pennsylvania, which provides, through the Penn Language Center and the Solomon Asch Center for Study of Ethnopolitical Conflict, and at no charge, office quarters and administrative services for the Consortium. Penn thus serves as the "designated agent" of the Consortium for the receipt and disbursement of funds. For fiscal purposes the Consortium is affiliated with the Office of the Dean of Arts and Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania. The staff members of the Consortium are treated as employees of Penn, and the Consortium follows standard Penn procedures for accounting, purchasing, and personnel matters.

    The Consortium is housed at the Penn Language Center, and is a joint project of the PLC and the Solomon Asch Center for for the Study of Ethnopolitical Conflict. For address, phone numbers, email, etc. see below.

  2. THE DIRECTOR OF THE CONSORTIUM

    The Director of the Consortium serves a term of five years. Harold Schiffman, Associate Director for Research of the Penn Language Center at the University of Pennsylvania is the administrator in charge of this program. The Director has initial responsibility

    In accordance with specific requests from the Governing Board the Director has the responsibility for initiating, conducting, and reviewing workshops, conferences, and projects.
