Apply
to Be a Tutor
Language Direct tutors
are undergraduates with As and Bs for at least 4 semesters in the target
language who have passed the proficiency exam or equivalent. Majors
or minors in the target language as well as native speakers are highly
encouraged to become tutors. Basic computer and email skills as well
as the ability to relate to other students are necessary. Each tutor
is expected to help students both online and in person. Online tutoring
requires frequent monitoring of email. The main responsibility for online
help requests is the promptness of response and communication with fellow
tutors to avoid duplication of effort. Tutors are paid $7 per hour.
The position can be used with a Work Study grant.
