This page was created for students learning the Kiswahili language. We have incorporated reading, writing, and listening exercises based on the novel, Kuli, by Shafi Adam Shafi. Included are excerpts from the novel with a glossary and exercises t o develop your comprehension of the Kiswahili language.

To begin reading, click on "sura ya kwanza" in the upper right-hand frame. Then click on "soma" and the text will appear. To learn the definition of a marked word, click on it and the meaning will appear in the lower right-hand frame. Exercises will be presented to you within the text document. Simply click on it and follow the instructions. Additional vocabulary exercises can be reached by clicking on one of the "mazoezi" in the menu frame for the chapter. When one chapter is completed, return to t he mainpage to continue to the next chapter of the novel.
