Pragmatic Failures

Teaching pragmatics in language class rooms is one of the important aspects of language teaching. Often times teachers find no time to teach students the pragmatics of their own culture resulting many pragmatic failures among students when they interact with people in that culture. This page is created to share the experience of language teachers on the strategies they use in their class rooms for teaching pragmatics. This page has a form where anyone can leave a message for others to read. The message can be explaining language specific features on various pragmatic issues such as greetings, complimenting, expressions of gratitudes, leave-taking, apologies etc., or their successes and failures when interacting with a new culture.
