Travel and Accomodations
Participants are responsible for making their own travel arrangements, and
arranging their own hotel accomodations. We have booked a block of rooms
at the
Sheraton University City hotel for participants who
wish to stay
there; it is within easy walking distance of the Penn campus and rooms
will be available at the special rate of $89 per night single, $99 double.
Other center-city
("downtown" or "centre-ville") hotels tend to be more expensive than
this. Bed and Breakfast accomodations cost less.

Travel to Philadelphia
-
Local Public
Transportation
Please note that there is a train service from
Philadelphia Airport directly to University City (the
part of Philadelphia where
the University of Pennsylvania is located) every half hour. Tickets cost
$5; from University City station, a taxi ride to local (University City
hotels, not Center City or other hotels) hotels is very economical. Taxis
or limos or shuttles to Univ. City run around $11. AMTRAK and other
trains coming into Philadelphia stop at 30th Street Station
which is also a short distance from the Penn campus, walkable
if you are not carrying much luggage.
