-¹Ô daa may also be
used to address a female child, usually affectionately. Similarly, Ý
may be used with a very small male child, one that has not yet reached `the
age of reason', i.e. the point of toilet training or when other expectations
about purity and pollution are made of the child's behavior. Use of this form
assumes great familiarity with the child; usually only parents or
relatives use this form of address.
