Next Event Current Topic Schedule Who We Are Contacts History Archives Map 1997-1998 Topic Schedule Contacts		Maxine Grossman, University of Pennsylvania "Textual Strategies, Authoritative Voice, and the Dead Sea Scrolls" September 25, 1997 In this first presentation of the year, Maxine Grossman will introduce the methodological issues of textuality, interpretation, and authority to the seminar and will then show how these issues play out in interpretive texts of the Dead Sea Scrolls. THE FIRST MEETING OF 1997-98 will be held on Thursday, September 25, from 7-9 pm in the Woody Room on the second floor of the Van Pelt Library at the University of Pennsylvania. Persons wishing to dine with other participants prior to the meeting should meet at 6 pm at Duhring Wing (just north of the small parking lot behind Irvine Auditorium, 34th and Spruce Streets). We normally eat at the Food Court in the building at 3401 Walnut Street, although any change of plans will be posted in a note on the outer door to Duhring Wing. 9/15/97 Jay Treat
