Claudia Scala Schlessman

Claudia Scala Schlessman received a BA degree in English, Spanish Linguistics from the University of Siena in 2006. She also completed an MA degree in Contemporary Italian History and Culture from the University College of London in 2008. Claudia began her current position as researcher of the Rare Book & Manuscript division of the University of Pennsylvania's Van Pelt library in December 2008. Her work focuses on the derivation of temporal and cultural significance from contextual information contained within the library's Gondi-Medici manuscripts. She will begin doctoral studies at the University of Pennsylvania in the Fall 2009, working with Professor Fabio Finotti in the Department of Italian.
