THE WORKSHOP IN HISPANIC STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA

THE WORKSHOP'S ACTIVITIES AT PENN

The Workshop is the official sponsor of all campus activities undertaken by the Spanish section of the Department of Romance Languages, namely:

• a yearly lecture series that involves the visit to campus of renowned national and international scholars during the academic year

• two one-week workshops per year led by visiting scholars who offer to our graduate students an intensive seminar on the topic of their current research, and visit undergraduate classes in which their attendance would be relevant (Classes will be canceled and the workshops are mandatory for all Hispanic Studies students.)

• an annual symposium sponsored by the Hispanic Review, to consider current academic debates in Hispanic, Latin American, and Latino literary and cultural studies
