Michael R. Solomon
Associate Professor of Romance Languages 
Spanish and Latin American cinema, medieval media studies, early modern medicine. Prof. Solomon specializes in the remediation of medieval culture in film and digital media, and in the rise of participatory movements from the middle ages to the present. His current book project, Cinema Minimo, explores the rise of micro short filmmaking in Spain and Latin America.
Prof. Solomon is the author of The Literature of Misogyny in Medieval Spain (Cambridge UP), a book on the interplay between the discourses of love, disease, and misogyny in the Middle Ages. He has also published The Mirror of Coitus: A Translation and Edition of the Fifteenth-Century Speculum al foderi. He has recently completed a book-length study on vernacular medical writing in Spain from 1300-1650.
