Read Genesis 12-22, from the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament (HB/OT). Read for background and understanding of the nature of the narrative (the story-telling) for the first ten chapters. Then look at Chapter 22 more closely, and see what questions it ra ises in your mind.

Then read Kierkegaard's Fear and Trembling, pages 41-82, and any part of the preceding Introduction, by the translator, that is helpful.

Write your response paper on the combination of readings; focus on how Kierkegaard uses the Biblical narrative of Abraham binding his son Isaac for a sacrifice.
