South Asian Language Teachers Association
(SALTA)
General Information: South Asian Teachers Association (SALTA) is a professional organization of language educators at university and college level and is a registered body in the state of New Jersey. The mission of this Association is to encourage a more effective cooperation among instructors and educators of South Asian languages, linguistics, and literatures in institutions of higher studies, particularly colleges and universitites in North America. The Association also aims at developing a national 'architecture' of programs in South Asian languages in terms of national needs, program designs, competency levels, curricular resources, and instuctional methodologies. For further details on Association's objectives and questions related to membership, etc. you are requested to consult the bye-laws of the Association.

We are a member organization of National Council of Organizations of Less Commonly Taught Languages (NCOLCTL)
