Awake
in my ear

while you're
here

and I hear
it's pretty tough
out there

this dive-alive
reef of reality

bubbles rising
from anchorman mouths

the newsworthy world
posing splendidly

but my sea
is awash
with memory

the wind still digs
at dull branches

like fingertips
in pockets

lonely sockets

the tree is
a crow rack

and I'm
an exhaling
armature

of age

a silver filament
reaching for a rope
of peach fuzz
