BICYCLE SUTRA

Barry Spacks

Training wheels help, but better a parent
to run behind you to keep you afloat
with a grip on the back of the seat as you totter
in terror and push, push. Just so

this coming to be who you truly are:
not so easy -- work, trust,
before on your own you're balanced and cry
Let go! -- full speed into never-forgetting.
