Why you want me to want
to seclude myself
beside a quiet, undisturbed lake
which doesn't exist anymore
and write in peace and solitude
with profundity

You want me to be "different"
so you can be different
so you can buy this book
of poetry and read quietly under a tree
while your cool friends are walking by
planning their Clover Day
and they can break their conversation
to think: why is he sitting by himself
under a shady tree with a single thin book?
to think you are different
That's an interesting cover

The truth is, what I really want
is to rub a poem
on the firm muscles of your upper quad
which you can wake up and wash off,
remember me at your leisure
or never at all
