the wheezing bone case,
extracting notes of flesh.
Eyes suspended
in parched head,
staring inward
to breaking seascapes.
On the plate poised
a knife and fork
by sloughed skin,
cup of brimming wine,
and zebra bowl of rice
fading to dusk.
Suddenly watching
eye of dog.
