I tried to respond privately to your question about the listserver problem
you were having, but I'm having problems getting from my mainframe (which
is BITNET) through to Internet and on to you at CompuServe, so I'm replying
to you on-list.

Your question concerned a problem getting an "index xywrite" document from
the listserver. I got the same response you did. I think the problem is that
there is no index of documents yet. You might want to check with Nathan
Sivin, the list owner, but I seem to remember a message from him that said
the index would not be operational until May.

On the other hand, when I asked for "info xywrite" which is the new user's
document, it came through just fine.

Conclusion: you're not doing anything wrong. It is most likely that you're
just asking for something that doesn't exist yet. But check with Nathan
Sivin. It may be that there's a problem with the server, and I'm sure he
would want to know.
