I am a graduate student in  Religious Studies  at the University of Pennsylvania, where I am focusing on ritual studies, with attention to certain problems in cognitive science and the philosophy of religion. I am a member of the Religions of East and South Asia Graduate Workgroup (RESA). Originally from Annapolis, Maryland, I have a master's degree in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee (UWM). I also spent some time at the University of Pittsburgh, studying ancient philosophy and the history and philosophy of physics, and of course rooting for the Steelers. Philosophically, my interests extend to the philosophy of science and epistemology generally.  My historical interests cover the classical civilizations of Greece, Rome, and India. For all the details, please see my CV.

For  two years I worked with the Center for Teaching and Learning at Penn, maintaining a website designed as a resource for those teaching at the university level and advising graduate student teachers on a one-to-one basis.   I also worked at the Language Resource and Research Center

In the fall of 2002 I taught a new course called Cognitive Approaches to Religion.  Also online is the syllabus for Greek and Roman Religions (Fall 1999).  I have taught a total of 91 semester hours at the college level; further information on my teaching may be found on my CV.
