Today on
1. I pledge myself to teach your son Joseph
Weis the trade of stonemason, and to furnish him with the necessary tools.
2. The apprentice to learn this trade must
spend three years in the apprenticeship which will begin with March 1847 and
end with
3. The apprentice will receive for the first
year a wage of three silver groschen per day, the
second year four silver groschen, the third year six
silver groschen per day.
4. The Mother is to be responsible for the
physical needs of the apprentice during the period of apprenticeship.
5. The apprentice in the case of unexcused
absence must remain later as much longer as he has missed work for the master.
6. If the apprentice during his apprenticeship
leaves the master without just cause, or runs away, then the Mother must pay
the master for her son 30 Talers as compensation, and
moreover without deduction and without any court procedure.
Drawn up in
duplicate at Medard on the above named day, and after
the contracting parties have examined the contract in all particulars, and have
found the contract correct in all particulars, and have signed it.
