"Just so you don't sound funny when you ask for Gió in the store, I thought I'd clarify
the pronunciation: It sounds like "jo." The name Gió is actually the nickname Giorgio
Armani's friends gave him.
They got it from the last part of his first name - Giorgió. Armani designed this
fragrance to "Smell like the skin after a day on the beach and in the ocean under "the hot
sun." Of course, all of this takes place on his island, Pantelleria, off the coast of Italy."
