We are concerned with the study of human
language, and its interrelationship with human culture.
There are many
misconceptions about language, some of which you may even learn in
your study of English, or other languages, so here is where we
will try to dispel them. (Every literate culture has prejudices about
language and literature and especially other languages/cultures, so
these are often subtly learned and passed on to foreigners).
