Selection Process

The selection of Fellows will be carried out by a committee consisting of local faculty and one outside evaluator. Publicity for the program and access to a possible pool of Fellows will be obtained through the use of our own data-base of people who receive the Penn Language News, the mailing lists of journals such as International Journal of the Sociology of Language, Language and Communication, Language and Society, and Language Problems and Language Planning, by other electronic data-bases, computer networks (Linguist-List, Language-Use, Ling-anth), and through extensive networks already extant at Penn.
