PSCO Presentation: 12 December, 2013Selections from Antiquities 5–9 (Judges, Monarchy, Assyrian Conquest)Steve Weitzman (Stanford) SeminarOur second meeting of this year’s PSCO will be Thursday, December 12 at 7:00–9:00 pm in the Second Floor Lounge of Cohen Hall. Our theme this year is “Rethinking Josephus’ Antiquities”. Steve Weitzman will guide our discussion of books 5–9, with a focus on Antiquities 6.45-378, 9.291, and 12.255-58. We hope that those attending will plan to read books 5-9 in advance and bring their own ideas, questions, etc., about it as well. Suggested ReadingsSteve Weitzman will focus, in particular, on Antiquities 6.45-378, 9.291, and 12.255-58. For Greek text and two English translations, see the Brill Josephus Project. The Greek is also available at Loeb. We'll also have some printed copies and handouts available for reference at the session itself. Meeting and DiningAll are welcome! As usual, those wishing to dine together before the seminar will meet at 6:00 p.m. in the Second-Floor Lounge of Cohen Hall and then go next door to the food court in Houston Hall.
