Greek Papyri (and related materials) at the University of Pennsylvania Museum

Compiled by Robert A. Kraft, starting 16 January 2010 (updated 19au2010)

This information is extracted from the provisional Museum Inventory list and has been supplemented here. The total number of identifiable Greek pieces is more than 700, plus numerous smaller scraps. There is also considerable ambiguity about whether Greek or Coptic is represented, when the piece is inadequate to resolve that issue. Thus some items appear on the Coptic list as well, but are not counted twice..

Bold type indicates that the scanned image is available at the official SCETI site (in suspension from January 2009); most other image links are "unofficial," pointing to digital images taken by R.A.Kraft for research purposes, with permission of the Egyptology section, starting in Fall 2008 (some are from photographs by Jean Walker [=jw] of the Egyptology staff, or from Museum archive photos).
