The two children—we cannot say for certain whether they are the woman’s children, for they may be her siblings, nephews, or cousins—are watching the exchange between the public health doctor and the woman intently. They also appear to be barefoot. Notice that although they are neither giving nor receiving the anti-malarial medicine, they are at the center of the photograph.
